Thank you so much for your kind hospitality during our stay in Great Hills Lodge. We had a thoroughly enjoyable week, exploring north Cornwall. Great Hills Lodge is the perfect base. We've had everything we needed for a perfect break from the dog hamper to the fresh eggs. The chance to sleep in late, enjoy reading and watching the display of garden birds outside the living room window. A special thank you to Claire for taking the time to make a lovely red dish for my friend I know that she will love it.

"Thank you so much for a lovely stay at Great Hills, we have loved it! The amount of thought that you have put into the house to ensure that everyone's needs are met is amazing, from binoculars, DVDs, cream teas and even tin foil! We could not have asked for more!"

"We had a lovely week exploring North Cornwall! The Lodge provided an excellent base that was home from home. The cream tea when we arrived was greatly appreciated. Had a great time walking the beaches and exploring the coast line. Everywhere was doggy friendly which was a bonus with a puppy in tow. We look forward to visiting again and exploring further afield."

"Had a fab time on the beaches, saw lots of wildlife ie birds, owls and would definitely come here again. Max and Daisy (2 x springers) loved it too, nice walks and lots of water!! Weather was great and being able to sit outside with breakfast and not hear a sound was so so relaxing. Thank you John, Claire and Jasper for letting us share your space."

"Thank you very much for a lovely week at Great Hills. We have had a wonderful time due in part to your warm welcome and your tips on where to go, where to park and where is dog friendly. We went to St Ives (park at St Erth and get the train in). We spent lovely days body boarding at middle beach (dog friendly) next to the sea pool. We will definitely return and we cannot recommend you highly enough. Loved the welcome hampers, what a lovely touch."

"We have had a fantastic bank holiday weekend! The cottage has been brilliant for our two young children. Toys/stairgates/biscuits on arrival. They have enjoyed having "sleepovers" upstairs and using the binoculars to spot wildlife. There has been a very friendly (well fed) squirrel on the bird table. You have been fantastic hosts and we would highly recommend this cottage to friends and family. Lots of exploring and lots of fun!"

"Hi Claire and John (sadly didn't get to meet Jasper) We chose Great Hills Lodge after seeing wonderful pictures online and reading the comments from previous guests — we were not disappointed and have joined the list of many families who have had the pleasure of staying here! It really is a gem! The decor is beautiful and like home from home with lots of items provided. The scones and cream went down well - our 3 springers didn't get a look in ! They had a great time! Our first visit to Cornwall has inspired us to return and find more stunning places, if only we could stay longer! Thank you so much!"

"Thank you John, Claire and Jasper for the warm friendly welcome. The cottage is a cozy, peaceful haven - home away from home, with amazing views. The scones, jam and cream were absolutely yummy and Sooty the dog says thank you for his doggy treat basket too. He has had a wooftastic time here! Our first time in Cornwall and we visited Boscastle, Widemouth Bay, the Eden Project and Bude. All lovely places. Lots more to see and explore so hope to visit again in the future."

"Great Hills Lodge is a lovely lodge owned by Claire and John who live in the Main house adjoining the property. On arrival it was spotless and well presented with all the bits and pieces you could wish for in a self catering lodge. The kitchen has high quality items including an induction hob and oven with plenty of pans. The main plus for us was the fact that we were allowed to take our three dogs at no extra cost and although the enclosed rear garden is small there were plenty of walks just outside the gate."

"I cannot express enough how much I recommend this beautiful lodge. Claire and John have really thought of everything down to the cream tea on arrival.
We went for 4 nights and it was so peaceful and relaxing. We took our little boy who turned 2 while we were there and our dog. Our son loved looking out for the sheep, lambs and birds. Short journey to Bude and we loved the beach and will definitely be back for warmer weather..... 5stars 😍 xxxx"

"John and Claire, you are so lucky to live in such a wonderful place! What a view and the peace and quite has been wonderful for our grandson. Being autistic, he sometimes needs tranquillity, and your holiday home has been perfect. We have all loved watching the birds and laughing at Grandad’s failed attempts to photograph the Woodpecker! Our grandson loved meeting the animals and was thrilled by the bats in the evenings. We don’t get to see him very often and it was lovely to see the pleasure he got from the location. He loved Tamar Otter Park and got to hand feed wallabies! Thank you for the cream tea and the warm welcome after our interminable journey. Oh and easily the most comfy bed Bob and I have had in over 18 years of staying in holiday homes! Thank you in spades."

"We booked this break simply on one view and it did not disappoint! Especially from the living room window and the added pleasure of watching all the different birds visit the bird table! We couldn’t resist topping up the feed with fat balls from the local store! Thank you John for your recommendation to visit Widemouth Bay it was really dog friendly and we all enjoyed it! We found the cottage a fab location to explore plenty of areas around Cornwall such as Hartland, Potrthleven, Padstow to name a few!. Oscar (the dog) adores the beach which is the main reason for visiting Cornwall year after year I have to say the beach at Padstow was his favourite, so calm and shallow. The basket for our furry companion and welcome pack are lovely touches and we really enjoyed our cream tea. Thank you for such a warm welcome."

"First thank you John & Claire for being so thoughtful. It was home from home because of all the extra details you included. The scones were lovely as were the free range eggs. Even the dog’s welcome basked was a lovely kind thought, Gemma says Woof Woof, meaning thank you. The cottage cannot be faulted, very comfortable and clean with lovely view. Thank you for everything Graham, Marta & Karen."

"We have had a lovely time here at the Lodge. We've particularly enjoyed being amidst such a beautiful setting. Paul, our three dogs and myself have discovered some wonderful places, and have walked many miles in truly beautiful surroundings. A word to the wise - it would be a good idea , in our opinion to provide additional lighting to the rear door area that leads to the courtyard. An amazing starry sky by the way and the dog tags are a super idea, thank you. Note from the owners: the rear light to the courtyard garden was temporarily disconnected following the replacement of the rear door just before the arrival of these guests. It is now back in place and the area is well lit."

"Such a lovely little cottage with stunning views and so close to the sea! Widemouth Bay, Tintagel, Boscastle. The steam train and Otter park in Launceston are also must dos as well as the fish and chip van (in Week St Mary on a Thursday and in Marhamchurch on a Friday) and the Bullers Arms pub in Marhamchurch. Lovely owners and dog Jasper, couldn't ask for more."

"We looked for accommodation for one night. In the little village shop they said “Sorry, nothing”. Put it into modern smartphone with Google, it said there is a nice place. And then we found a very warm welcome for one night. It was really good. After 30 miles on our cycle trip it was like heaven on earth. Thanks for all and we wish you all the best."

Cornwall, our favourite place on earth, and staying here has made us fall in love with it just a little bit more! Thanks Claire, John and Jasper."
