The perfect base for a Cornish countryside retreat
Great Hills Lodge is located on the edge of the small and friendly village of Week St Mary in north Cornwall, just a ten-minute drive from the coast at Bude. It’s the perfect base for a quiet countryside retreat, surfers chasing the waves, walkers wanting a great base for the South West Coast Path, families wanting to visit Cornwall’s attractions, dog lovers or for those just looking to escape day to day life and unwind.
Secluded and peaceful — but close to the best of Cornwall
The cottage is on a private lane with its own driveway to the house, great for guests wanting privacy, seclusion and the peace of mind that children and animals will be safe. The lane beyond the house leads to woodlands for tranquil walks and we’re surrounded by beautiful Cornish countryside — just what you need for a quiet night’s sleep. We’re also ideally located for visiting attractions and seeing the best of Cornwall.
A lawn and courtyard made for relaxing
The Lodge has a raised lawn with garden furniture and barbecue, a peaceful spot for al-fresco dining on a warm day. The lawn has a rotary clothes dryer, which is ideal for drying beach towels after a day at the beach. The rear enclosed courtyard is a sun trap, with amazing views for while you enjoy breakfast and plan out your day, while our padlocked stable is a good spot for hanging up wetsuits and storing surfboards and bikes.
Comfortable and cosy, ideal for couples and families
The Lodge sleeps up to four, with a comfortable main bedroom on the ground floor with a king size bed and quirky second twin bedroom in the former hayloft. The spacious living room has space to relax and for dining, with bird feeders just outside the window so there’s wildlife right on the doorstep. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you’ll need for your stay, while there’s free WiFi and a Smart TV with Netflix to keep the kids entertained.
A stress-free place to stay for those with limited mobility
For guests who have limited mobility, Great Hills Lodge provides a stress-free holiday; all accommodation is on the ground floor, except the second bedroom. The driveway leads right up to the house, making it easy to get to and from the car, while the downstairs shower room has a step-in shower with a safety grab rail and shower seat. There’re also handrails on the two steps out to the rear courtyard.
